Permafrost thawing

The Netherlands does not have permafrost today because its climate is too mild. While permafrost existed in the Netherlands during the last glacial maximum, the current temperate climate prevents the ground from remaining frozen year-round. As permafrost thawing does not present a known threat in the Netherlands, it will not be incorporated into the portal.
