Cyclone, hurricane, typhoon

The Netherlands does not experience hurricanes because the sea temperatures in the North Sea are too cold to sustain the formation of hurricanes. The Netherlands can, however, experience storms and strong winds. See for more information the related hazard pages storm and changing wind patterns. As hurricanes do not present a known threat in the Netherlands, it will not be incorporated into the portal.
