Risk Data Hub ATLAS

The Risk Data Hub ATLAS provides a first impression of disaster hazards, vulnerabilities and past losses across European regions. The atlas is of use to anyone interested in understanding and managing European disaster risk.

What can you find on the platform?

With its interactive modules, the atlas can be used for exploring different dimensions of disaster risk. It features hazard maps, displaying where floods, earthquakes, droughts and heatwaves may occur across Europe. Besides hazard maps, the atlas also provides vulnerability profiles, which highlight social, economic and infrastructural factors that affect a region’s resilience, and loss maps, displaying historical economic damages from past extreme events. Moreover, the atlas provides a project gallery and a knowledge library.

Who developed the platform?

The Risk Data Hub ATLAS is coordinated and maintained by the Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre.

Please note that the RIsk Data Hub ATLAS uses global data sources, which may deviate from the national datasets provided through the Dutch Climate Risk Portal.
