World Bank Climate Knowledge Portal
The Climate Change Knowledge Portal provides a first impression of historical and future climate conditions, vulnerabilities and impacts across countries and watersheds worldwide. The portal is of use to anyone interested in finding out more about climate risks and adaptation.
What can you find on the Climate Change Knowledge Portal?
With its interactive views, the portal is an excellent starting point for exploring climate trends and risks at different scales. Besides offering maps, the portal also provides country profiles, data download options and a resource library:
- Country view: interactive maps and charts showing temperature and rainfall trends, sector-specific climate indices, vulnerability indicators and adaptation frameworks for each nation.
- Watershed view: maps that visualise historical and projected climate data for major river basins and catchment areas.
- Country Profiles: concise reports synthesising key climate risks, vulnerability assessments and suggested adaptation actions.
- Download data: open access to global climate datasets—including past observations and future projections—for custom analysis.
- Resource library: guidance notes, glossaries, tutorials and metadata to help users interpret the data and apply it in decision-making.
Who developed the Portal?
The Climate Change Knowledge Portal is created and maintained by the World Bank as a one-stop shop for climate-related information, data and tools.
Please note that the World Bank Climate Knowledge Portal uses global data sources, which may deviate from the national datasets provided through the Dutch Climate Risk Portal.
