Solifluction

The Netherlands does not experience solifluction due to the absence of sustained seasonal ground freezing. Solifluction is a periglacial process that occurs in cold climates where frozen or partially frozen ground, combined with thawing and soil saturation, leads to the gradual downslope movement of soil. The Netherlands has a temperate maritime climate that does not support these conditions. As solifluction does not present a known threat in the Netherlands, it will not be incorporated into the portal.
